Youth temple trip

One of the greatest things about being in the young women's presidency is having the great opportunity to go to the temple with these fantastic young men and young women. Last night was the third time i had this great opportunity and I look forward to being able to go again with them. I truly love being able to work with the youth. And getting to know each of them. It is an awesome experience to watch their testimonies of the gospel growing all the time. It is amazing to me that these youth have such a desire to serve the Lord. It is truly impossible to not feel the spirit of our Heavenly Father no matter what you may be doing in the temple especially when see these youth here. I know Heavenly Father is very pleased with all them decideing to be there on this night.
Kenzie was sad because she missed this trip by a month and two days. Even that warms my heart knowing she has the desire to go and do this work. I look forward to being able to go with her as well when she has the great opportunity to go in the temple for the first time since the open house.

Fun in Sacramento

The Kids getting bookmarks with their names in braille.

On Saturday Sept. 26 Fairytale Town on Sacramento had a free admissions day. Not a Family to pass a free fun activity we had to go. The kids had a lot of fun as did I. While watched them play on all the things and run up and down the crooked mile I was flooded with my own childhood memories. I Loved going to Fairytale town as a child. MY mom would take me and my sister(s) and my aunt would take my cousin. It was great way for us to enjoy each others company. It is amazing how things turn full circle in life.

After fairytale town we went across the street the Zoo. Unfortunately that wasn't free but it was still very fun. The Kids loved to see all the animals.
We had a great day. There is nothing better then being able to spend time with my family. It really gives me a glimpse into eternity when we have a great day like today.

The fishing derby

Ok On Saturday Sept. 12 the kids went and participated in the Marysville fishing derby at Ellis Lake. Did they catch anything? No they did not. Did they have fun trying? Yes they did. And Really isn't that the important thing.
Actually it was good they didn't catch anything because I have absolutely no clue how to cook fish. Not to mention eat it. I have never been a fish person ever. the smell of it has always been enough to send me running for the hills however I have told Ken I would try it again sometime. Not looking forward to that but maybe it is all in the preparation of it. Now I just need to learn how to fix it because I know Ken is going to try his luck with fishing again.
So if anyone knows any good ways of fixing fish i am totally open for suggestions and lessons. :)

Labor day ward baseball game

It has become a tradition in our ward to have a Labor day BBq/potluck. And as always they are a ton of fun. What a great way to get to know those in your ward better. This year they added to the fun of socializing and food softball and volleyball games. MY family all did the softball so that is where i was taking pictures. They all had so much fun. Sammy was running around the park while Cali, Kenzie, Nelson, and Ken were playing softball. All 4 of them hit the ball. I hope this will be something that continues in the Labor day tradition for our ward.

North beale Falls Hike

Me, the kids and Dottie enjoying the shade.

Ken and the kids in the water.

All the kids in the water.
Sammy still happy even after he fell in.
Cali and Kenzie enjoying the water before they fell in completely
Dottie trying to figure out if she wants to get in the water or not

The First weekend in September we had the great opportunity to go for a hike. We went up to North Beale falls for the first time. It was a lot of fun. Dottie enjoyed being able to be let off the leash and just wander around. The kids loved being able to explore as well. On the hike we found several bushes of wild blackberries. We all enjoyed those. The kids also enjoyed getting thier feet wet. Unfortunately 3 out of the 4 kids fell in the water and got a bit more wet then we planned but it was still fun. Thank goodness they had the hike back to the car to get dried off.
This was a great family activity and one that we will absolutely do again in the future.

A family walk

Sammy having fun sliding down the slide.

The kids all wanted to go take Dottie for a walk and play at the park. And this is the result. I don't know what the park is actually called but my kids call it the circle park. They all had fun taking turns taking the leash of Dottie on our walk and Playing at the park. They all then turned into a bunch of hams saying mommy take a picture of me over an over. And posing themselves. Little goof balls but I had fun taking the pictures. Here are just a few shots. I love when they play and work together so nice.

OUr garden pt. 2

Cali, Sammy, and Nelson with lots of carrots
Carrot, tomatoes and cucumber

Our garden did ok for our first time doing a garden. It was a lot of fun for all to watch the garden grow. we had sucess with part of garden while the rest didn't do well. We had some nice tomatoes, cucumbers, and carrots. We only got only one zuccinni which I was sad about and our melons didn't do so well either. It is funny how some things thrives while others suffered. I was really looking forward to having some of the diferent things that were planted. We are thinking we got them planted to late. Oh well live and learn. We will be trying again next year with hopefully better success.
