The Discover Museum and Challenger Space Center

Really bad picture but the best I could get of Nelson during his space mission from behind the glass doors.

On the 14th Nelson's science class went to the discovery of science museum and Challenger space center, which is the same place. His class got to go through a simulation of sending a rocket into space. He was part of the "data" team. He had a blast. This class was a great opportunity for him and I am so glad he was able to take it. He wants to take Next semesters science class as well.

While Nelson was doing his space thing Kenzie and I went through the museum. While it isn't so big and exciting a 13 yr old could spend a ton of time there she did enjoy seeing some of the different animals that were there as well as learning about bones, alligators/ crocodiles and other things. I would definitely recommend going especially those who have smaller kids. Kenzie and I want to go back when the planetarium is open again. We were also told that in the summer they will have the space program open to more then just field trips for anyone 8 and older. So that is something I would like to look into as well.
I look forward to taking the rest of the kids back to enjoy the museum.

Breakfast with Santa

Mr. And Mrs. Claus with the Colborn Kids.
Kenzie,13 with Santa
Nelson,10 with Santa
Cali,8 with Santa

Sammy,6 with Santa

Our Wards Christmas Party was a blast this year. We did a breakfast instead of the normal Dinner. I loved it. Santa and Mrs. Claus joined us which of course the kids loved. We had a delicious breakfast of pancakes, eggs and sausage. There was also juice, milk and hot chocolate bar. All I can say is yum.
I look forward to being able to do this again it was great.

Run to feed the hungry

So i wanted to keep up running after the half marathon so the Run to feed the hungry on Thanksgiving was a perfect thing. Although it was quite a bit shorter it was a great and invigorating way to start Thanksgiving. I did the 10k. I loved it. I was very happy to actually get running. It was so cold that morning and the movement help to warm me up. I did it in about an hour and 15 minutes. Still slower then i would like but i guess it gives me something to work toward.

After the run me and family went and joined Ken's family. I love being able to get together with family. All in all Thanksgiving was fabulous. I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving.

Forgotten Carols

In November I was super excited because my wonderful husband,Ken, and I were able to spend one of our date nights going to see the Forgotten Carols. I have always loved this music by Michael McLean. It is very uplifting and inspirational Christmas music. The last time I saw this show was before Ken And I got Married and I saw it without him so this was a great opportunity.
I love this story of Constance , John and Christmas. It was a wonderful way for us to start the Christmas season with the Spirit of Christmas.
If You haven't had the opportunity to see this show or even listen to the music would highly recommend you doing so.

Vetrans Day

In November I took the kids to the Veteran's Day Parade. Nelson was in it with the boy scouts. Afterwords we went and looked at the display that was set up. It was a great day. The kids enjoyed the parade and seeing all the flags and the memorial that was there. It was a great teaching day.
Thanks to all those who have , do and will serve with the military!
