Let's go fly a kite (or three)

Kenzie's Seagull Kite. She got it at the girl scout shop. It is a fabulous kite that really flys it was great fun to watch.
Sammy bought these at the dollar store. They cam in a 2 pack so he gave one to Nelson. They didn't fly quite as well as the seagull but the were still fun.

"Let's go fly a kite. Up to the highest height. Let's go Fly a kite and send it soaring. Up through the atmosphere up where the air is clear oh Let's go fly a kite." Ok I love this song From Mary Poppins. How can you not feel happy when you are flying a kite especially when it really is soaring. There is just something about watching kites floating on the breeze. So needless to say this was my theme song throughout this fun filled family activity.

There were a couple of good windy days in January that the kids insisted on making use of and I am glad that we did. Cali did not have her own kite but she was the only one who didn't want to buy one for herself. She had a blast helping Kenzie with the seagull however. I am bummed my pictures of the girls didn't turn out but oh well not much I can do about that. Anyway on this particular day we all went over to Kynoch to the nice open field there. And just played for an hour or so with the kites. Next year or maybe even later this year I may need to go get some better kites for everyone if we are going to continue doing this fun, family activity. Which i hope we do.
